Background Music for Hotels in Sharjah

Hotels are named in the Ministry’s guide, with annual licence fees from 1 December 2026. One subscription, every zone, all five commercial music rights.

A Sharjah hotel earns its atmosphere in the public spaces rather than the bar, because there isn’t one. Where properties elsewhere in the country let an evening lift itself through drinks service and live entertainment, here the lobby, the all-day dining room and the lounge have to carry that shift on their own — and music is the main instrument available for doing it.

The guest mix compounds it. Corporate travellers tied to the emirate’s industrial and port economy sit alongside families drawn by the museums and the waterfront, often in the same property on the same night. A room that reads as generic serves neither.

Zones and dayparts

We programme a hotel as a set of zones and schedule each against the hours it actually trades. Lobby music moves through arrival, afternoon and evening, with the evening shift doing deliberate work rather than simply continuing the afternoon. All-day dining follows its own service pattern. Lounges, pool decks and spas each run to their own logic, and corridors sit quietly underneath.

Everything is scheduled centrally and updated remotely, so no duty manager is choosing tracks mid-service. For the full business case, see background music for hotels in the UAE.

Hospitality experience

MUSICVYBE has programmed music for hotel groups across Asia-Pacific for more than two decades, including Fairmont Singapore, Swissôtel The Stamford, Pan Pacific Hotels Group, Oakwood Premier, ParkRoyal Penang, M Social and Furama City Centre. In the UAE, we previously provided the music programme for Raffles Dubai.

Where properties consolidate several partial arrangements into one directly licensed subscription the saving tends to be material: Fairmont Singapore and Swissôtel The Stamford together reduced annual licensing costs by over SGD 43,000.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do Sharjah hotels need a music licence from December 2026?+

Yes. Hotels are among the sectors named in the Ministry of Economy and Tourism’s Collective Management in Music Guide, with annual licence fees applying from 1 December 2026 across the UAE. Brackets are set by the nature and size of the business and by how music is used.

Do our restaurants fall under the hotel’s licence?+

Because fees scale with the nature and size of the business, properties with multiple food and beverage outlets should establish their position outlet by outlet when applying. A completed zone inventory makes that conversation considerably shorter.

We have no live entertainment. Does that simplify our position?+

Live music and DJ performances generally attract higher fees than recorded background music under the published framework. A property using recorded background music only will therefore be assessed on that use, which typically makes its position simpler to establish than one running a mixed programme.

Can one arrangement cover properties in other emirates?+

Yes. Our licences are held directly with the IP owners and carry global rights, so the same subscription covers properties in any market without separate arrangements with each country’s collecting societies.
